Posts in Google are posts that businesses create directly within their Google My Business Dashboard. The posts show up in the search and maps box—along with their location, hours, reviews, and other business info.
Similar posting options were first made available in January of 2016, exclusively for political candidates (they were called “candidate cards”). Posts in Google became available to more industries over time and are now available to businesses in all industries except for hotels and accommodations.

Things to Know about Posts in Google
In order to create a post in Google, your business needs to be verified by Google My Business. Create a post directly within your Google My Business Dashboard.
Google says that posts are intended to display “timely” content. Because of this, posts are removed after 7 days. However, this does not mean they are gone forever. On mobile view, a list of all previous posts can be viewed under the “Posts” tab.
Google provides some guidance on how to create a great post here. Given that these posts are meant to be timely, try to post information about events, product updates, announcements, or special offers. The post should be brief (150-300 characters). The title should be 4-5 words (58 characters max). The photo should be simple and high resolution (minimum of 720px wide by 540px tall as a JPG or PNG). To maximize your exposure, always include a button that links to your site for more information.
